Ku-ring-gai Council has deferred the Norman Griffiths Oval upgrade after receiving confidential advice on the project's high level costs and legal position. The item, listed as GB11, will not be debated this evening and no decision will be made until after a site inspection.

The council went into closed session to consider two attachments for GB11: a breakdown of the high level costs to complete, and legal advice. When the meeting returned to open session, a councillor asked what the deferral meant for the staff recommendation.

"It's deferred, yep."

The response confirmed the project is suspended in the meantime, with the council continuing to manage the site until the next meeting. Staff will advise a suitable time for the site inspection.

The deferral means the staff recommendation is neither approved nor rejected. The item is expected to return at the next ordinary meeting, or at an extraordinary meeting if the site inspection happens sooner.

Several confidential attachments were also noted, covering the Pymble Business Park planning proposal, the 15 Echo Street Roseville planning proposal, and the dual occupancy FSR submissions.

The council also considered an addition to note that an Employment and Commercial Services Study for Ku-ring-gai will commence in 26-27. A councillor said the study would assess future demands for jobs, retail and commercial floor space across the whole of Ku-ring-gai.

The meeting closed at 8.07. Written responses to questions on notice will be provided to the May ordinary meeting, and minutes will be published within the next two working days.
