Ku-ring-gai Council has voted down a notice of rescission that sought to undo an earlier decision on the Norman Griffiths Oval Project.

The item was the only substantive matter on the agenda for the extraordinary meeting held on 29 July 2026. The Mayor opened the item by noting the notice of rescission and its date, then called for a mover.

"Madam Mayor, I would like to move actually an alternate motion, which"

A councillor said they would move the rescission and the alternate motion together.

With the votes equal, the Mayor said she would vote against and exercised a casting vote, meaning the rescission was lost.

The meeting also received a memorandum on councillor questions about costs to maintain the Norman Griffiths Oval site. The General Manager confirmed there were no reports to be considered in a closed meeting and not released to the press or public.

The minutes of the June Ordinary Meeting will go to the next Ordinary meeting for confirmation in August. No mayoral minutes and no petitions were presented.

There was no business without notice under clause 9.3 of the code of meeting practice. The Mayor thanked councillors, staff and members of the public for their attendance.

The webcast of the meeting will be available on the council website and minutes will be published within the next two working days. The Mayor declared the meeting closed at 2.24pm.
